I bought a set of 13.5 progressive 490s for my 2014 Street bob, but I have ran into some trouble installing them I’m running the stock headers with slip ons and the bottom shock mount hits the top of the exhaust. Is there a way I can get them to fit with my current exhaust setup? I’m looking at buying a 2 into 1 exhaust in the near future but I’m afraid I’ll run into the same issue again. I really like the thunderheaders. Which exhaust systems will let me run the 13.5 shocks?
Possibly loosen your header bolts, and put a spacer in between the rear muffler and mount point to move it out just a hair... tighten the header flange bolts back up and then tighten your rear muffler mount.. ?
Flat 1/4 stock steel is pretty cheap at your local hardware store..aluminum would work too. maybe need some longer bolts too. Bet you could test it for 15 bucks or so. Not sure if that much would cause your exhaust not to re-seal... but alternative is wait until you have a different exhaust.
Not sure on the slip ons they was on it when I bought the bike. I’m assuming just some cheap ebays or something similar they don’t have any markings. I’ve been looking at a new exhaust but am afraid to make a $700-$800 mistake and it not fit with the shocks
Do you have a bigger picture of the slip-ons, or can you describe them a little? Like, are they quite a bit different diameter than the pipes? Was thinking you could go with another set of slip-ons that might be smaller diameter... I had some V&H Straightshot slip-ons for a year or so... I think they were not much bigger than the pipes.
i just dented my screamin eagle slip ons. said fk it. mounted up my 14" revo a's and let it ride. you need to make sure your stock support bracket isnt hitting the swingarm or axle bolt either. i had to notch my support to keep running the factory header and slip ons

They are about the same size as tcazes in the picture above. So I’m guessing the denting method will work.
yep just cover it with a micro fiber rag so it doesnt scratch the chrome and one good whack. just make sure you know where you want to hit lol. you cant even notice it on mine lol.
