Howdy folks , I bought a 2010 fxd dyna awhile back it had been wrecked and I put on a new front end . the bike has just 5900 miles and had been sitting in a friends garage for 2 years.the bike runs great tracks good but, my prob is I have a working headlight , tail light, the front turn signal lights come on but, the brake light, rear turn signal lights, horn and speedometer, don't work . ive checked all the bulbs and fuses theyre good. wiring is like new . could this prob be a relay ive missed somewhere ? ive been riddin sportys for the last 30 years and this bike is all new to me . any help will be appreciated . Thanks
I'd start with a meter/test light to see where the power loss is occurring at the plugs..before or after and work back from there. But you need to get a repair manual so you have the wiring diagrams. Here's the rear.
Thanks I bought a manual but the wiring diagrams were not in it . the manual said to check the diagrams on the cd that were in the owners manual and being the bike was used nobody had one. I talked to the guy that wrecked it he bought it used.
There is no electricity diagrams with owners manual CD as some people say new bikes come with.
My guess is you need a dealer service and electrical diagnosis manual. And a pretty good electrical knowledge and a AC,DC, ohm resistance meter.
Know telling what is broken electrical if front in was replaced. Good bet it could be visible if you know what looks good and what looks broken.
