Default Eagle LIghts Install question

So I bought an Eagle LIghts 87002 7" Daymaker Gen2 LED for my SB a few months ago. Just getting around to installing it and found that it won't seat flush with the mounting ring. So, I can't get the ring assembly back on, screws are too short to reach.
Anyone else had this problem? oh yeah, this is for my 2012 SB....and Eagle LIghts says for my year, I don't require their ring adadpter, but I'm pretty sure I do. So, had to re-install the old headlight for now.

I have thought that with both of my LED lights I had, just took a lot of work to get everything lined up just right in the bucket to fit. I did noticed there is an alignment ring on the factory headlight that was not used for my first LED headlight. When i went to install the 2nd headlight I bought I spent 30 minutes trying to figure out what the hell I was doing wrong. Read the instructions again and it said to reuse the factory alignment ring. Thankfully i keep all my old parts so I still had the ring on my factory headlight and boom fit perfect.

Yeah, they're all different. My Moto Illumination light only fits without the ring. I have a Wisamic that won't fit in my bucket at all, but probably would with a little bit of dremel work to shave a little down here and there...

Sent an email to Eagle LIghts and they are looking into it. Hopefully its something simple to fix so I can get this installed.
