I went into the dealer today at lunch just to see the new bikes in stock. They have the anniversary edition superglide with radius spoke wheels. Wow, that is a sharp looking bike. I was kinda disappointed in the stripped down wide glide. Why did they do that?
I saw the Anniversary Superglide today at my dealer also. SWEEET looking ride. Of course, it had a sold sign on it. Seems like my dealer sells them as fast as they come in....Especially the Street Bob and Anniversary SG bikes.....
Hey all, just purchased one of these beautiful bikes, December delivery. I am already getting the wide tire and slip ons, do I need anything else? This 35th is my first bike and I have a month to make upgrade decisions.
I believe the diameter of the stock pipes is 1 3/4" The SE II slip-ons are the same but less restrictive. There are also some after-market companies such as Cycle Shack that make a 2" pipe from the engine all the way to the mufflers....Looks a bit beefier but real nice. Not sure if they compromise any HP since they don't transfer the sonic waves the same as a 1 3/4" pipe does.
Congrats on the new scoot. Iâd like to have one. (not bad enough to sell the RK)
IMHO the stock pipes must go. Youâll get different opinions on the pipes, but the SE 2s are a good option for better sound and a little more go.
Thanks for the info. I have the SE II's and the 180 mm rear tire on order. Later I will probably go Stage One; will I only need something like the Dobeck unit to go with it?
For Air Cleaners, there are several options. Harley has one, I went with the Arlen Ness "Big Sucka", as it came with the K&N re-usable air filter. I think the Harley ones might come with that now as well, but at the time I bought mine they didn't. With the Air Cleaner and mufflers, you'll need a download. Keep in mind, you're modifying a collector bike, so keep all the stock parts!!
Congratulatons on your purchase.I picked mine up last month and have put 1500 miles on it so far. I installed the SEII balony's with no problems .I will be doing the SE AC and stage 1 download tommorow.
And that will be the end of the mods except for a few ergonomic changes such as grips and pegs the bike will remain stock.
Enjoy your ride.
