Default Engine knocking when hot

I have a 95 wideglide with an Evo motor. I had a leak as the cam cover gasket was junk. I replaced the gasket and now when the motor gets hot it knocks. Any ideas? I did change the oil and there is no metal YET so I am hoping its not terminal. I am new to working on bikes so I am kind of lost. Thinking maybe possibly I have the timing off when I reassembled??

That's a good guess. Since you took the cover off you certainly had to pull the timing cup and sensor, which means if you never set the timing when you put it all back together you could have way too much advance, hence the knocking.

Did you use the wrong gasket & block off the oiling passage to the crankshaft? Time to take it apart & double check your work before you grenade the bottom end.
