Default Pull Back Risers on 2008 Fat Bob

Brand new member here. I'm thinking about installing some pull back risers ( HD part 56267-09) on my 2008 Fat Bob. My hope is to be able to sit up just a touch more over the stock riding position. I know this has been discussed in posts I've read from years ago but I was hoping someone who has completed the job themselves could give me a solid clear answer. First and foremost, is it a difficult job to do yourself? I'm fairly mechanically inclined but don't want to start something only to realize I should have gone to the dealership. Two, if I do decide to the job myself, will I need to replace any of the cables? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I have them on my fat bob. Super easy to install and the stock cables fit. Two riser bolts and four clamp bolts....done. While your doing it replace the stock rubber riser bushings with poly or solid to eliminate any flex.
I would get a service manual or a clymer manual at minimum of you want to do your own work on the bike.

Cool! Thanks for the info. I actually have the HD service manual but for some reason the FDXF options are always the exception. When I looked at the job in the manual it actually suggests removing a lot of stuff (see the pic I attached) Figured I'd go to the forums just to double check. I love the aggressive style of the stock set up but on longer rides I do feel the need to arch the back now and then. Do you lose the aggressive style after this mod? Can you expand on riding changes after you made the switch? Thanks again.

I have a similar set on my Super Glide Custom and it made a tremendous difference in comfort. If you don’t like it you can always swap it out for the original setup and sell the risers on the forum. I doubt you won’t like it though.

Only issue I had was the top clamp would hit the dash full left right lock when parked. So it left 2 dings in the chrome

This happened on the Fat Bob? 08? Did you have the stock bars? Did anyone else with these risers experience
this issue? Thanks again everyone. I don’t know why I waited so long to join these forums.

First check ebay for this part, dont pay HD prices secondly if u do decide to do this cover your tank and fender w a terrycloth cloth towel, inevitably you will be dropping ****......loosen the risers b4 u remove the handlebar clamps.

If you're refering to My post, no. it's a 94 fxstc. Just passing on My experience with pullback risers.
