Default Fxdls owner looking for a cool old school analog fuel gauge...

I'm not really diggin the low-profile blue led cap that's on the bike now (oem cap sold by previous owner). Just personal taste I guess. I'd prefer an older needle style plug n play gauge that fits the color scheme of the bike, i.e. black.

Anyone have any links they could share? I'm having trouble finding anything that isn't digital or adorned with skulls and what-not.

THX

The dyna line came with a stock Chrome analog gauge thats plug and play. Could paint the housing black?

I totally would, but the previous owner got rid of the stock caps and replaced them with the blue led flush mount caps. I guess I could buy a new set of oem caps, but I wanted to see if I could find an aftermarket black high visibility analog version that suits the bike...

Autometer gauges (most speed shops) may have what you're looking for. I replaced my HD oil pressure gauge with one from them.

Old School gas gauge? Before the invention of the idiotic fuel gauge, ya just reset your trip odometer to 0 after a fill up. With that being said, I removed the damn lil' critter on my 07 Dyna and replaced it with a matching OEM gas cap.

The trip odometer was so you would know when to expect to switch to "reserve"....

This is the first bike I've had that had any sort of fuel quantity indicator.

I have a set of stock "cap & gauge" set from a 2015 FXDL.

$75 + shipping.

Pic of aftermarket box to illustrate fitment.

I've always liked the look of the "old school" sight glass style of fuel indicator. Installing one would require more bravery than I can muster, however,,, but they look nice IMHO and you just can't beat the reliability.
