I have been thinking to change my fuel cap and gauge on my 07 Dyna WG to the flames collection set. It will compliment all of the Flame theme add-ons I have. I was wondering if replacing the fuel gauge requires some skills or is it as easy as plug and play. When I was cleaning the bike this last weekend the fuel gauge just popped up in my hand and I noticed the harness down there...
I just had my LED fuel gauge replaced. Mine led fuel gauge on my 07 springer cvo was a bitch- had my local indy dealer do it because I didn't want to screw it up- the attachments for my bike were under the fuel tank, so the fuel tank had to be moved back and the old wire assembly had to be removed and replaced. Yours might be much simpler though.

Replacing the old gauge with a new LED is simple it most likely won't take you much more than 20 or 30 minutes to change it out. just remember that when you take the old one out if you can't get the wires out of the plug don't sweat it just take wire cutters and leave enough wires so you can re-use it if ever you decide to. Then slide the new harness down the tube and follow the instructions on how to put the new plug on the end of the harness.
