Default primary locking bar

Just wondering if anyone had made up a primary locking bar that takes into account the threaded towers on the 99-05 Dynas. Any pics or dimensions would be really appreciated.

Thanks.

I've seen people use a wedged piece of 2x4 on their chains, I suppose you could make two wedges and go that route.

Here's the one I made to do my 99.

Not perfect, but it worked fine.

1.5" x .25" steel bar stock. 9.43" overall length. Notch is 2.00" x .75"

this is what I made to do my 006. may be different on the earlier models. I kinda doubt it tho.

or, like Senior said, wood works too.

A craftsman 3/8 ( I have two that are slightly different lengths and I use the shorter one) ratchet fits perfectly between the teeth of my clutch basket and compensator.

Note to the folks that may not have done this job before, the primary chain tensioner must be removed first, then you can use a lock bar.

i would caution against a 2x4. I did that and it splintered and I ended up cleaning up a big mess. Unless you have some petrified wood laying around, the force is too great. Make one or buy one from Jims.

There are so many seldom used tools like this (O2 sensor wrench, front exhaust bracket wrench, etc.), the forum should have a lending or even renting section so people who have the tools can help others.
