Default Screaming Eagle Pipe

I just bought a 2005 FXDWG from the second owner, he put the Bassini pipe on it. He gave me the original pipe that came on it when he bought it, he told me that it is the original pipe. Did it come new with this Screaming Eagle Pipe?

I don't remember signing up for an account, 10 years ago I had a Hayabusa.

The SE pipe isn’t original to the WG, it may have been purchased and installed before delivery, but it didn’t come from the factory that way. It would have had staggered mufflers that were tapered.

Thanks for the info. The bike was not tuned for the Bassani, It runs just fine but backfires almost every time when I down shift. I'm going to put the SE pipe on and see if it sounds any better.

Should check the air filter, if it is round with a cast backing plate it has had a free flow filter installed. Can also check under the seat for a piggy back tuner. If it’s got a tuner you may be able to adjust it depending on brand.

My guess is it will run better with the Screaming Eagle pipe. Looks like the second owner was from the "loud pipes save lives" crowd.

I agree. I had SE pipes on my Ultra Classic and it ran better than with the basic V&H pipes that I had on it when I bought it. I recently picked up a Dyna Super Glide that had louder V&H pipes too. I put the stock pipes back on. Runs much better now

If bike doesn't have a tuner - get one & adjust AFR. This way you can control & fix that popping b/c you're either running rich, or lean.

Thanks guys for your words of wisdom... I'm going to put the SE pipe on as soon as I put on new tires, it still has the original tires on it.
