Default Tink when accelerating

Out for a ride yesterday and noticed a noise coming from the left side of my bike when I was accelerating. Only immediately after shifting, as in I'd shift and accelerate and it would happen but then I could go on and off the throttle as much as I want without a sound. Noticed it most in 2nd and 3rd but 4th too. Didn't happen if I eased onto the throttle. Can only explain it as a "tink" sound. Not a clunk. My guess is it's something to do with the primary chain. Don't think it's the compensator, but found a few posts from years ago that seemed similar that said it was the primary chain tensioner. i'll try and get a video of it today.

Any thoughts? Bike is an 07 with 60,000 km. Fluids have all been done recently.

Is it repetitive? Like a continuous tink tink tink or one tink and done?

It could be pinging. If you accelerate at lower rpm's that are too low it can do that. Try shifting at higher revs, you might be lugging.
When you changed the fluids did you check the plugs? Do you have some kind of tuner?

well that’s what I was gonna say, but one and done sounds like a token Harley transmission sound.... double check your primary chain tension and make sure it’s not stretched out. It could be your chain whipping when you accelerate.

I don't think it's that. I'm shifting over 3000. Plugs were changed last summer. I have a power commander.

I'll try and get my primary chain checked today. I'm also gonna try and get a video of the sound.

During a break in the rain today I went for a ride and it didn't make the sound. Since I didn't have a ton of time my bike didn't get super warm (dash said 90c/194f was the hottest) so that makes me think it's only happening when it's hot.

As the primary chain gets hot will it loosen up? Or would the chain tensioner behave differently when it's hot?
