I've been thinking of creating my next spring solo for my 99 Wide Glide rather than for sale. I see that some of you have done a spring solo on your Dynas. I also know that there is no specific mounting hardware for a dyna to accept a spring solo, and that you guys have modified your own bracket, pan, etc. Can you give me some ideas of how difficult it was or how much customizing you actually had to do to make that particular item?
Just a general interest I hope someone can give me some advice on. It's been quite a while since I have done any fabricating with metal.
Regards
VTwin mfg. makes solo mount kits for Dynas, you could eiter buy one of theirs through a Drag. Spec. or Custom Chrome dealer or copy it and make your own.
Here is a picture of the one that I made. They are not very hard to make as long as you have a welder. The one I made bolts on useing the two stock bolts. On and off in minutes. If you look in my gallery you can see more pics.
That is exactly what I was hoping to hear...thanks guys. I don't really have access to a welder since I don't work in th efab shop anymore....I may have to sucumb to the "big catalog machine" and pony up the bucks for one of theirs. I'm just glad to hear there is actually such a thing available. I think a spring solo would look sick on my WG. By the way rocklayer, that sled is awesome. Great choice for your add-ons.

Thanks for the compliment. And yes I agree with you about the seat on your Wide Glide, It would look cool.

Hey Sway, post them newer pics....I dig the WG's for sure (obviously, I have one). I'd love to see what one looks like with the spring solo on it. I may change out my bobtail rear fender for a low tombstone style this winter and a thinner tombstone for the front. With some street drags and a spring solo it may just look bad a$$.
Take care fellas and talk soon,
