probably not smart
It probably wasn't my smartest move on a bike but I was really pi$$Ed off! It was really nice today, upper 70's so I asked the wife if she wanted to go for a ride. Due to various reasons it's been over a year since she's ridden with me. We had a leisurely ride and were heading home and as we came to a T shaped intersection there was a dump truck & trailer in the oncoming lane waiting to make a left across in front of me. There were vehicles waiting on the road coming in on the right (stop sign). I had no stop sign and was continuing straight. I was watching the truck and the first car on the right and they made eye contact with me and just as I got to the intersection this impatient old lady passed the waiting cars on the right, on the should, right into my lane, and almost ran us into the side of the dump truck. She never even looked our way. Of course I had braked hard, and moved to the left as far as possible. She just continued on her way oblivious as to how close she came to killing us! Now this is where I got stupid. I was so mad, once a got the bike downshifted into 1st I took off after her. It only took a few seconds and I was on her ***. Now this was a no passing zone but I know the road well and knew there was room so I gassed it hard and zoomed around her and as I went by I took my right hand off the throttle and brought my fist down hard on her drivers side mirror! I was hoping to snap it off or maybe break the glass. She had her window down so it probably scared the crap out of her but she had scared me too! I zoomed away and she disappeared behind me, maybe she had to pull over, hard to say.
Not my smartest move especially with a passenger on board. I expected the wife to really chew my but out when we got home but all she said was that she had a good time.

Glad you and the wife are ok, and the bike. Good riding got you out of trouble. As far as the other part,,, when people are oblivious (or ignorant) it's easy to want to do things to them sometimes.
That kind of stuff is what started me racing. Had 3 incidents like that in the span of 2 months. Figured if I was on a track I would be wearing full leathers, a helmet and the biggest thing that would hit me would be a Harley. You gotta watch out for the idiots in their 4 wheelers.
I've had to dodge dogs & deer but this was actually the first close call with a vehicle on the Fat Bob. When I had the Sportster it seemed like I had them about every other day. When I switched to the Bob it seemed to end. I don't know if the dual headlights just made it more visible or what!

I noticed a difference when I swapped out my single for a Fat Bob dual head light, so maybe it's legit, who knows, but whatever works.
On another note, that's a damn good wife and riding partner, stay safe.
You have to remember cagers do not see us sometimes. You can have a loud exhaust, and they still don't hear us. That is the risk you and I sign up for every time we ride. While you where justified in doing what you did, how would you feel if she crashed and died and YOU saw her, and purposely caused it. Not only that, but the legal issues you could face. I crashed one time because a driver switched lanes abruptly in front of me and braked. My old lady and myself got hurt. I didn't get mad, it's an accident.
Good to see you where able to have enough room to squeeze by and are OK.

Unfortunately, if the old lady didn't have a clue when she pulled out in front of you then she won't have a clue why you smacked her mirror and probably chalk it up to another obnoxious biker.
The country's falling apart, chaos and mayhem rein, it's becoming a free-for-all, as long as you don't harm an innocent, at this point...what does it matter, abandon hope-all ye who enter
I doubt there’s anyone here that wouldn’t like to put a bullet in the knee of any of these clueless idiots. The problem is that most are in fact, clueless. Two days ago a relic pulled out in front of me, not even seeing I was there until I laid on the horn and used some colorful metaphors.
Thank you Mr. Ness for my big brakes that gave me plenty of stop to avoid eating her bumper.
