Check the fuel system- the filter, and the lines in the tank since they can get pinholes and cause a drop in fuel pressure. Test the fuel pressure. Clean your IAC. Look in the tank for loose crud. Check for codes. Clean and check the fuses and relays.

I'd start with replacing the check valve line, the fuel filter and the pick-up sock- might want to go ahead and either get a fuel pump rebuild kit or go the Gates submersible line thing. Bit over $100 for new parts- Dennis Kirk has the stuff. Easy Peasy repair. You know if the orings in the check valve are rotten likely stuff in the tank is shot.
New check valve line The pump assembly- rotate towards the front of the bike and gently lift it out Uh huh... Dont follow steps in the manual...frustrating; pull up tab on the left, slide assembly forward a bit and gently lift then you can get both fingers on checkvalve line quick release
Check the hole in your gas cap, try to run the bike with the cap removed, do this in a parked condition. If the vent is plugged it's creating a vacuum in the tank not letting fuel flow through the fuel pump system.
