Cam Timing
Is it even possible to get the cam timing wrong if the dots are lined up? The cams are slotted to assist in lining up the dots. I've just changed out the cam tensioners on my 88 twin cam. Now there is significant power loss and hesitation through the gears. I'm wondering if the the secondary time is not alined to the primary timing. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
It's possible to be off one tooth on either chain. Are your sure you put the pushrods back in correctly? They are different lengths for exhaust and intake. If you are using adjustable are you sure you followed the procedure to set them? The easiest thing to do is start backtracking your work.
I know the rods are correct. It's possible it may be ignition timing also. I'll start there then double check rods, rockers and cam chain. Thanks.
