I've got a 2014 fat Bob, and I'm looking to replace the shifter linkage with something different. But I'm getting confused on compatability. Does the dyna forward control setup use the same length shifter linkage as the touring models? Or is it a unique length?
Also. What threading is on the standard linkage for the end pieces? I think it's 5/16-24, but I'm not 100% confident
Well I know my 2013 Street Bob is 14 3/4" center to center and you got to watch the threads if it's aftermarket or factory.. I believe they're by 5/16x24 but I just purchased one aftermarket and it was it was freaking metric.. as far as I know thought 5/16x24..

Yep, that. Pretty sure that's the size for all '06 and up Dynas. I was having a hard time finding an aftermarket linkage in that length, most of them are shorter. I finally searched the internet using the Harley part number (33815-06) and found one.

Good luck.
I'm in the process of making one. Bought some heim joints off of Amazon and had a nice piece of thick walled copper pipe that I tapped.. As soon as the joints come in I'll post it up.. here's the joints from Amazon

I like the sounds of that. Looking forward to the pictures.
I bought a 5/16" stainless rod, threaded the ends to 5/16"-24, and ran matching pitch stainless heims and lock nuts. Mine ended up 15" eye to eye; but I think I based that on the old linkage, so either there are multiple lengths of forward control linkage, or the PO of mine installed the linkage from a different bike.
So here's what I came up with for a finished product.. Lighting in the garage ain't the greatest.. Might be able to get a pic when outside in the sun later today...
