Default problem with pc3, looking for help

i installed the pc3 a few weekends ago and i'm having a strange problem.

From standstill, when i give it some gas to get moving, there's a pause. Almost like the motor is missing a beat and then it catches and gets going. it only happens in first from a standstill and it happens every time. i figure it's probably just an adjustment in the map, but i wouldn't know where to begin.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Check the map you're running and compare it to the pipes and air cleaner on the bike. Are they properly matched? You might canvas the group and see who has your bike config and ask what map they're running. Few here will share a custom map that they paid money to a tuner to have created. I will.

Do you have the USB version? Consider downloading the Accellerator Pump utility (for free) from Powercommander.com. Install it and use the recommended street settings.

Let me know if I can help.

Make sure you set the throttle position as well. Also check out this thread.

this came loaded with a custom map from Fuel Moto. So it's set for my pipes and bike.

I do have the usb version. I'll grab the utility. What's it supposed to do above and beyond the existing map?

And anu, how do i set the throttle position? Is that explained somewhere?

With your switch on, 9 volt battery hooked up to power the PCIII up, open your map. Over to the right you should see throttle position. If it does not read 0 and when you turn the throttle wide open it should read 100. If not it needs set. Then go to top of page to Power Commander Tools. Click on it. When it scrolls down your options click on set throttle position. It will bring up a screen that has three settings. It will have a rainbow color bar with the settings. Theeasiest way i can explain this iswhen you see the three settingsonly click on the setting to the far left. It will have a symbol that looks like < that is the one you want to click on. Only click it once. After you do that click OK. Then it should go to 0 twist throttle wide open should say 100. If it does all done. Dead spot should be gone.

To be a lot more specific i went the web sight just to make sure. When you go set the throttle the bar will say closed, current, open. The closed one is the only one you will need to click on. Remember only click it once. Also instead of using the 9 volt battery, just go ahead and crank the bike and have it running when you do it, it will be more acurate. I hope i have not confused things. If you need to just go to Power Commander .Com. Go to downloads. It will show you how to set it. It really is easy, i promise.

I just read thru all 10 pages of the DJ fiasco that Anu posted. that's disheartening, but i'm going to make sure my firmware is up to date and then folow your directions jason (as well as what's posted on the site). does anyone recommend using dialectic grease as well?

and i plan on getting it dyno'd. i was waiting to see if this pc3 issue would actually be resolved first before spending the money only to take it off. thanks for the head's up guys, i'll give this a try.

I have a PCIII and love it. I have had no problems and I know of others that also have not had any problems, yet I read this and seems there is a problem with some, why not sure but it appears that one individual fixed his problem with raising the starting numbers by a value of 5. I am not sure if this works or how but I have taken a canned map from the website and did my own changes with no problems.
I wish you luck in this.
