Everyone has been a great help so far in this forum. I've now got the fuelpac and air intake covered, thanks to everyone here!
My next question concerns slip ons, there seem to be so many brands, along withas many price differences.
My criteria is not as much for loud, butalmost the opposite. I'd like to stay friendly with the neighbors, butwould likea slightly deeper sound than what stock gives. I'd like todo this without breaking the bank?
Is it possible?
I have the V&H Straightshot slip-ons with the quiet baffles. They have a great sound and can be loudif you hammer the throttle, but I am able to get out of my neighborhood somewhat quietly by just being careful and keeping the motor at a slow and easy rev.
I have to plug for Reinharts slip ons. These pipes rock. Deep low tone at a idle and smooth through the mid range. When you twist the throttle they get loud but not so loud your neighbors will hate ya. Cops will probably leave you alone as well. Plus they have the black tips that go well with black bikes. My .02¢ worth.
I appreciate all input from everyone, I started leaning towards the Old SE II Slip ons.
Richdeerht and Voyager1, figured I'd try your route, but read more about not being able to find the old SE II Slip ons.
Another post says they stopped selling them in June "06", any truth to this?
Budget wise, $300 is a limit I'd like to stay under.
But I did like the idea of "nice compromisefor sound. Not as loud as some, but still sounds like a Harley".
you should look at the rush 2" slip-ons. I have the SE 2's on my 06 lowrider and just put the rush pipes on my wifes 07 sportster. they sound great and just a bit better than my SE's
I love my V&H straightshot HS slipons. Got them for a company on ebay for about $220 with shipping. Sound great and perform great. They are lound but not that annoying crackle, it's a deep loud rumble.
