Engine stopped while riding
I was riding my 2006 Street Bob on Saturday when the engine suddenly stopped. I coasted over to the curb. With the ignition and the run switch ON, the motor would not turn over. No noise at all. The lights work, the horn works, the dash indicators all seem to work. But the starter doesn't work and the blinkers don't work.
I trailered the bike home and am now looking for answers. I replaced the battery just for grins. It didn't make any difference.

All, thanks for the feedback. I checked the diagnostic codes. I have 3 related to the blinkers and 3 related to the speedo. I cleared all of them, but still no luck.
Next, I turned to the fuses. The 15 amp ignition fuse was blown. I replaced it and she started right up. Now, the search is on to find out why the fuse blew. Lesson learned: check the obvious stuff first, and carry a box of spare fuses with me!

A few weeks ago I was starting my wide glide it backfired and completely died. I am an everyday rider and bike was only sitting for an hour or so. Had absolutely nothing and tried to jump it but couldn’t get enough power to start. End up having two loose major negative wires. Not sure if you might have something that is hitting connection well enough for short periods and maybe vibration from riding it loses connection. But checking connections might help.

Glad you got it sorted out at least for now to get you back home.
Back in like 1993 my dad had a similar thing happen to him except it ended up being the crank position sensor took a **** so we had to tow him home.
Then in 2009 I was out riding and the same thing happened (different bike) but luckily it stopped working when I was like 1/4 mile from home so I just pushed it the rest of the way. But that damn CPS is a bitch because there is no warning signs it just says **** it I quit and you're stranded.

Problem solved: I pulled the handlebar switches off and saw DIY splices in the wires behind the switches. Someone had swapped them out and did a very poor job of reconnecting them. I patched them up temporarily so the fuse won't blow again. I have ordered new switches and chrome covers so I can replace all of them with no splices.
