Huh, didn't see anything about trouble starting when hot, just lack of response at speed when hot.

Yeah, no problem at all starting, cold or hot. I have been riding the last couple of days now, and no issue...strange.

Next time it occurs, try pushing up on the connector at the bottom of the tank..
I'd also go through all the main connections, battery terminals. battery cables and grounds.
