Engine light on - engine running in bogged down mode
2008 FLHX Street Glide. Bike ran normal, then all of a sudden was riding and lost power, engine light came on and could only ride up to about 25 mph at about 2100 rpm. I was able to restart the bike and replicate the issue with consistent results riding in 1st or 2nd gear only. I'm assuming the engine has a mode (bogged-down) that allows you to ride at low speed so you can get home.
Any ideas before I take it in for diagnosis? First time it's ever done this (23k miles).
I had P1511 and P2135 for codes on my 08 ultra when my throttle actuator was acting up. I had to replace the pins on the connector and it cured the problem. As I stated though, check your codes and see and then report back and we might be able to give you a better idea.

So I started the bike up again after letting it sit a couple hours. Started and ran fine. Revved it up a couple times it was good, then engine light came back on and was once again in bog down mode. Reved it a couple times again, engine light went off and ran normal again.
If for some reason you don't find any obvious codes leading to limp mode due to TGS sensor issues, check the condition of your fuel filter body inside the gas tank. The 08's had an issue with the body deforming leading to low fuel pressure.
