I just got my first Harley it is a 2006 dyna super guilde. I was wondering why some had the mag wheels and some had the spoke wheels? I was wondering how much does it usually cost to change the handle barrs and cables so I can put pull back the barrs to get a better fit. This is my first Harley I have been riding Goldwings thank you in advance for this information.
Super Glides had mags, Super Glide Customs had spoked rims.
You can try adjusting the bars. Loosen the clamps and rotate them towards you. Sometimes it works, other times it won't be enough.
If you're doing the bars yourself, the parts can run into the hundreds, depending on what you want. If you have a dealer do it, get a quote up front. It could probably be a couple thousand.
Congrats on the new ride, post some pics.
If you are fine with the bars, just want them back more. There are risers available that can get the bars closer to you. You may not need new cables and wiring if you just need an inch or two.
If your wires for the switches are in the bars like I would think they are. It's not a hard job to pull them and get them back in. Mainly time consuming and reading the manual carefully as to how to remove the connectors from the wires so you can get the wires through the bars.
Nice first Harley. Super Glides are one of the best options for making it your own. A lot of the fun is tinkering and changing things. See ya around the board.
