Hey all, putting Vance and Hines straight shots slip ons on my 2010 Super glide custom. I know it doesnt necessarily need a tune, but Ive heard all bikes can benefit from a tune. I do plan on a high flow air cleaner in the future. My question is, will the FP4 be an ok tuner for this ? When I ran the app on my phone in demo mode just to see the selections, there was no options for my straight shots, and also no option to choose an air cleaner once I get one, the map it gives me is slip ons, with a high flow air cleaner, even though I have the stock air cleaner on the bike currently. Would trying to track down an FP3 be a better route to go ?
Thanks guys, without having the high flow, will the MAP effect anything, or would it be better to use the auto tube feature ?
I am ignorant about the FP4 tuner specifically, but I do use a PowerVision tuner on my bikes.
IMHO... I wouldn't add a stage I tune (both high flow air cleaner & high flow exhaust) on a Twin Cam engine that doesn't have both... You could end up running rich.
I have heard that the OEM air filters on the M8 engines flow well enough that changing only the exhaust requires a retune... but on a Twin Cam, generally speaking, you don't NEED to retune until you open up both the exhaust and the air cleaner...
If there is an auto tune option with your FP4 tuner, I would use that on a stock tune, with only the high flow exhaust... That should serve you well until you open up the air cleaner too...

It's my understanding that once a FP3 is married to a bike/VIN it can't be used on another bike. So finding a FP3 on the cheap, as in used, maybe a bit difficult. I opened my app and used your information, it's doable for your 2010 Dyna.
Well I ordered the FP4 it will be here in a few days. I will say Im a little leery because of all the negative reviews that I saw, of course after I purchased it.
