Default Headlight malfunctioning

My 2009 Street Bob headlight does not come on when bike is started but works while factory warning alarm comes on. Have not began to look into the problem yet. Thought I would start here first.

Is this a new occurrence? Just get the bike? Has anyone done any electrical work lately?

Bought the bike new. No work on bike in quite a few years.Daily rider. Started on morning and light did not come on. Walked back toward house and noticed as alarm flashed lights, all lights worked.

So when the security system arms and the 4 signals flash twice, the headlight also flashes? Sounds like a short. Did you check for BCM (or is it TSSM on that year) codes?

According to factory wiring diagram, the headlight is powered by the lights circuit, no connection to the security system (TSSM).

Forgot that I put an aftermarket lamp on the bike four years back. It has halo and auxiliary lights in them. When the alarm engaged those auxiliary lights are so bright I thought it was the head and high beam lamp. After breaking down the bike to follow the wires I decided to do what should have been done first. FUSE! The bright aux lights fooled me. But hey thanks guys for all the information. But got my feet wet for my first of many questions.
