Found this loose cable/connector on my 2010 Dyna Fat Bob. Just want to confirm it’s not needed for anything. Best I can tell from looking online is that it was for the stock air intake but with the new intake for the stage 1 it isn’t needed. Is this correct? Is it for something else? What is it? Can I just cap it and tuck it away?
Is that connector down by the transmission and exhaust or is it up by the throttle body.. I know there's European models that have active exhaust and active intake.. It's all emissions crap.. I don't think we use it here in the States but the harness was never changed.. It's easier to use the same harness on everything...
Man I can imagine if I brought my bikes over to Europe, I probably get arrested.. Lol.. The laws are much more lenient here in the United States but then you still need to be careful with some places you go... Hell I love it when I go through some of these towns and car alarms go off, it's pretty awesome.... So much for active exhaust... Lol...

Possibly... but you obviously haven't dealt with CARB (California Air Resources Board)...
Luckily the vast majority of LEOs out here don't really care about CARB, or many bikes could/would be cited and/or impounded regularly...

It’s for the O2 sensor. The other one is disconnected too. I guess they were disconnected when the Stage 1 was done. Bike runs great. So I’ll just tie them out of the way and ride on.

I hope they switched you over to an all open loop tune for your Stage I.. Do you know who, or how they tuned your Stage I....?? If you're not throwing a check engine light, that would confirm the O2 sensors were turned off in the tune...
Anyways, it looks like the pigtail on the O2 sensor... or is it the harness connection to the O2 sensor?
If it is the pigtail on the O2 sensor, you'd be better off removing the O2 sensors and putting an O2 sensor bung plug in the header... It will be better for preserving the connections and the O2 sensors in case you ever decide to go back to a closed loop tune. Plus there will be a lot less "junk" needlessly hanging around and zip tied to the harness..
