I actually did this a few years ago but thought i would post a pic here incase anyone gave it any thought. 2008 Superglide. I wanted to clean up the handle bar area and had it moved to the side of the front end. Looks good and I can still see it just fine.
I've considered doing the same thing, the speedo really stands out when its perched up there on the bar clamp. One thing that keeps me from doing it is how easy the speedo is to see when it's up top.
I've had two Road Kings with the speedo on the gas tank dash and it's kinda annoying to have to take your eyes off the road to look down at the speedo.
What is the view from your seat? Can you see the speedo by just glancing down with your eyes or do you have to lean over to the left?
Is that mounted on a 49mm fork tube? I'm interested but most of the mounts I've found are for 39mm tubes. The few I've seen to fit 49mm were very expensive for what they are...
