I got my first Harley (first ever motorcycle) in 1976. I had Sporsters for a few years and then went to Dressers. I never owned a Lowrider or Dyna. While driving through town I saw a bunch of stuff set out on the curb in front of a house where they were moving out. I saw this "LIKE NEW" Python Exhaust sitting there, so I grabbed it. I believe these cost $500. or more and I saw it has O2 sensor bungs, so it must be for kind of newer bikes. I want to sell it to someone (I'll give them a hell of a deal) but first I need to know what it is. All I know now is its by Python, it's like new, and I'm guessing it's for a Dyna of some sort. There is only one mark which is on the bracket 458-P. I couldn't find out what it means. I know nothing about Dyna's. It would be great if somebody here recognized it and could tell me it is Python model X, and it fits Harley model X from 20XX to 20XX. Also, I actually only want to get accurate replies. I can sit around and make as many guesses about what it fits as anybody, but since I'm going to ask money for it I can only use correct info. No guesses. Well thanks for helping.
I searched 458-P exhaust bracket and came up with the link below. The bracket in the picture looks like what you have best I can tell. Says it fits 07-13 Softail with Vance amd Hines exhaust. So it may be a generic bracket, or that one was modified for the Python exhaust.
OK. You're a Genius. You made me get my good glasses out and I found the tiny HD part numbers on the two header pipes, and SURPRISE, the exhaust is from a Heritage Softall. Not a Dyna. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
The crossover between the header pipes you have, that uses the mounting bracket to pass gases between the headers on dual exhaust set-ups, is a standard design of the HD OEM crossovers for many years... I think I first saw it on my '89 Heritage, then my '03 Heritage.
Those Python slip-on mufflers were very popular, and sounded really good IIRC, back in the 80's & 90's....
