the dyna sg custom and the street bob? the only thing i can see is the handle bars and the seat. and it also seems to me that the SG comes with more chrome for $1k less money...i dont know if that makes much sense...am I missing something? I'm trying to make a decision on which dyna i want and with the color options and the different amounts of chrome, it is getting tough... i want to go and order my bike this coming saturday.....thanks for the help...
Last year, they were pretty close in price and which one you bought was just personal preference based on whether you like the blacked out bob look or the shiny chrome look. Now that they dropped the price in the SGC, in my opinion, it's the best bike for the money in 08.
They are both dynas, with different styles. Right now the blacked out BOB is the hype, so it cost more. If you like the blacked out look, it would cost you a lot more than a grand to do it..... And the Bob would be the way to go. If you like shiny chrome, the SG Custom may be your bike. Want a fresh pallet to work with, SG standard. Want that low look right out of the box, the lowrider. Want the newest thing out, you gotta get the fatbob! Or, if you really want the last of the very best....you gotta get the coppertop WG! Just joking, its all personal preferance.
The 08 FXDC is the deal of the year. At $800 less than the FXDB and $1650 less than last years FXDC, the choice should be obvious. It is to me anyway, since I don't like Street Bobs.
The bob is closer to a lowrider then the SGC, same frame and rake (lower seat hieght). The SGC has the blonde engine with the chrome covers, I prefer the black engine, it cleans easier, although I love the SGC's tank/console.
FXDC is the way to go this year IMHO. The price drop is a great attraction and the only thing your getting out of the Bob is the black engine. Aside from that the Custom beats the Bob like a red-headed step child. Plus, try to find a Bob at msrp. It ain't easy, at least not in my neck of the woods. Easily the most over priced bike in the last two years as the stealers have jumped on the price gouging bandwagon after seeing the reception the Bob got in '06.
