Default Bullet Headlight

For those of you that installed the HD bullet headlight, is it necessary to remove the fuel tank to connect the new headlight?

Brownie,
No, I did not have to remove my tank, but I had previously installed a 2" tank lift to it. So, that gave me more room to get up underneath and intothe frame to access the wires for the headlight.

Thanks Bart. I also have the 2" lift. Just got the headlight and wasn't looking forward to draining and removing the tank per the instructions.

Brownie,
Good luck on the install. If you got the HD model be aware that yo may have to reverse the leads. When I installed mine the high and low beams were reversed. Justa heads up to you.

Bart,
Just finished hooking up the new light and sure enough, high is low and low is high. Did you just switch the wires in the connector?

Thanks for your help,
Brownie

Yeah, just reverse the wires. It's kind of a head-slapper when I did it because I realized the color coding of the wires would have tipped me off that it was going to happen if I didn't just put blind faith in the connector plug. [:@]
