VI66,
Congrats on the successfull maintenance. You and your dealer have set the bar for others to attain. Hopefully, All 06 Dyna owners will experience the same success and experience the 6 speed karma for all it's worth! [sm=icon_cheers.gif]
Went for a cruise on the 23rd and found myslef at Pomona Valley HD and asked about the recall- they said they have 1 kit on hand if I want it done now. so I had the recall and the 1K service done with synthetic fluids and had the bike back then next day at 1pm. I did have trouble geting it in to neutral before but now its a breeze. brakes were adjusteted blah blah. other than the N thing the bike was **** before but I feel better knowing she is tip top.
They delivered my Low Rider back to me today. I had the 1000 mile service done while they had it and they deducted the transmission service cost from the bill.
It shifts into netural with a more positive feel.
Suppose to be in the 60's this weekend. Got to Ride!
yeah i agree once recall work is done, neutral has a more positive feel to it.live in south australia and there is 18 sold bikes in harley heaven that cant be picked up until recall work is done. poor buggers.picked up my bob on dec.12th harley dealer said if i was a day later i would of had to wait as well, lucky. acc. =S/E a/c (k&n eliment), s&s slip ons and ecm download.bit of popping on decelleration but runs beatifull.one happy camper.only took shop 5hrs to do work, bike was back under my bum at 4.30pm just in time for dusk ride in aussie summer.also why didnt australia get the o2 sensors, brass bungs instead?(open loop delphi?)
My bike was completed yesterday. Neutral has a more positive feel and the bike shifts great. My bike is clean with no marks. Capo HD did a great job![sm=icon_cheers.gif]
I have had the recall done for 2 weeks now. I have put about 2oo miles with it and have had no problems. I really dont feel much difference from before the work was done to be honest.
Got my bike back tonight from the recall and 1000 mile service. It shifts as well as it always did and I "think" neutral is easier to find now. I can't be sure if that's just in my head or not though. At any rate at least I don't have to worry about the bike being in neutral with my sitting on it.
The mechanic who did the job said it took him about 7 hours to do everything. He said he didn't want to go fast because he wanted to do the job right. Plus I know the guy so I know he took extra care.
I just got my scoot back today from the recall. I think it feels the same. My dealer talked to the local HD rep, and the rep told him a couple of horror stories with this transmission. For instance, an idling 06 Dyna drove itself out of the dealership while in "neutral." Anyway, I am glad that I got it done, and my dealer was top notch in pickup and delivery.
While mine is in there they probably will Yank my warranty for having no mufflers and do my own work to it! I'll let you know when I pick it up next week!
