Picked up my scoot today from my indy guy. Finally had him install that black inner primary I purchased from Reksul a little while back. A fewpeople know I am doing a black cover thing with my bike and while I liked the way the black outer looked, it just wasn't going to be complete until I got this part done.
I researched the job and decided that in the end, it was better to have it done professionally, rather than chance making a mistake and costing myself big bucks in the long run. It definitely looks much better now IMO. All I need to do is find a cool looking black derby cover to compliment it all. Still haven't come across one yet that everyone and their brother doesen't already have. I'm considering having one done custom, but have no clue as to how to go about finding someone who could do something like that at an affordable price.
Anyway, I realize that maybe the direction my bike is going in might not be everyones cup of tea (I realize the trend is chrome the chit out of it or black the chit out of it....) but it looks good to me and there is definitely not another one like it around.
I was curious how that was going to look. Been thinkgin about bidding on a few inner/outer black covers on Ebay but wasn't sure yet. Looking good though man, I am heading in a similar direction as you I believe.
It's looking good, me personally I think it needs more black it contrasts better against the blue than the silver but then again that's my opinion. One look at my sig pic and you can see what direction I'm going.
I still have an inner just like that one which came off of the 07 SE King. (hint)
Yeah, actually I forgot to mention that I did have him put that clutch spring in too. I never did thank ya for sending it my way. Indy guy said thats going to come in handy when I decide to do a motor build. Belated thanks for that part.........
I'm not a big fan of chrome. I like the look you've got. In the end as long as your happy that's all that should matter but for what it's worth I think it looks great. The engine and the primary offset each other nicely.[sm=smiley20.gif]
