I haven't been on a Harley in about 20 years ( and never owned one ). Old Triumphs have been in the stable since then. Yamawhos before that.
Never thought I could afford a new bike. Never had a new bike.
Well on saturday I brought home an '08 FXDC duracell. From the world I've been in, this thing is smooooooth! Got in about 200 miles by lunch on sunday. Broke out the hairdryer, pulled off the reflectors and stickers. Let the games begin!
My first one was a 05 Softtail Standard, which I sold in frustration when I shattered my right hand and had to rehab it. Bad mistake.
I then moved on to a 07 Sporty Custom, 1200. Great little bike, loved the payment(virtually none) and really tried to mod the bike up to my frame which is 6'2" 280 lbs...
I just bought on the 27th a 08 FXDC and I must say, this is my favorite Bike I have owned hands down.
I too was a Yammer and Kawie rider for most of my adult life....all 20+ years of it..

I've heard that from everyone I have talked to that switched from something else to a Harley. Glad to know I have the best brand out there as far as ride goes. I wouldn't know the difference myself though because it's the only street bike I've ever had. And, compared to dirt bikes, anything is probably a better ride... Congrats - nice choice.
