Default Lowering question

I have an 07 street bob and Im thinking of putting the Tamarack lowering kit. The kit I want to put lowers the bike 1.75 in height. Id love to lower it but Im worried the fender will rub when I double someone. Does anyone have this kit on their Dyna.

Most people buy heavy duty progressive shocks if they are going to lower and two-up on a dyna. I'm not sure but I think the kit you are talking about is not reccomended by anyone....I may be wrong about that though......

Even Tamarack doesn't recomend the 1.75 kit for a Street Bob if you plan on putting more than 200lbs on it.There are some 11" fully covered chrome shocks on Ebay that are very competitive with Tamaracks kit.You might take a look at that before you make your decision.Hell, I've been looking at em for weeks, I'd rather have a used set of black Progressives.

Tamarack all the way. I installed the 1" on my 06 Street Bob and all is well. I ride two up often with no problems at all. I highly recommend this kit, it is made especially well, fit is perfect. I then raised my front forks up into the triple an inch to level it out. Bike rides especially well and sits GREAT. I'm telling you man Tamarack is THE WAY to go. $89.00 for chrome and $79.00 for black!!

Ed,

1.75" seems like a big drop in the back. You may run into problems with the belt guard and riding 2 up may also be a problem. If you do drop the rear that much, I would highly recommend dropping the front at least 1", otherwise it will be squirrelly and light on the front end. I wnet with 11" progressive 412's and like them a lot.

By the way...I found the heat shield for the Thunderheader collector and will send some picks of that and the shiels on the two header pipes.

I've seen Tamaracks 1.75" kit installed on a Bob it looks great but it's not meant for carrying much weight.I think I exceed thier maximum recomended weight limit by myself.So I could get thier 1" kit but it's about the same as a generic 11" shock which I think would look cleaner and maybe work better or at least as well for the same money.I'd rather have Progressive and I nearly did last night until someone out bid me at the last second and got a set of fully covered 11" Progressives in black for $51,... dammit!

Depending on how much you wanna lower it you may want to start with the seat. I have the 11" progressives (and front lowering kit) but the Danny Gray big seat lowered me as much as anything. Course I'm only 5'4" so the total 3" I got out of it is perfect for me.
