I've got some goodies to install and need to disconnect the negative terminal on battery. How long can I leave the negative post disconnected? Thanks Smiley

You can probably leave it disconnected all the way up to the point where you re-connect it...
I don't know of any consequences related to leaving the battery disconnected. I'm sure there will be consequences for me being a smart-a$$

Harley davidson issued a service bulletin that states that one should smack the customer upside the head for asking this question

diconected mine completely to do some tach welding for two weeks or so and then got a warm day so hook back up and rode. Only effect I saw was a flashing 12:00 time.
