dyna alternaters

i have seen 5 alternaters come apart on 06 dynas lately. has anybody seen a recall or heard of this before?? the bolts came out of the rotor and destroyed the stator on all of them . mine locked the rear wheel up made helluv a noise i thought my motor came apart.dealer replaced it with a updated welded rotor no bolts.its not a lot of fun running 70 and the wheel locks up before u can get the clutch released.[>:]

dealer said 06 rotors are bolted to the compensater sprocket .updated one is welded.if ur bike is out of warranty its about a 600.00 repair,there should be a recall

It better get recalled you could of been seriously hurt or killed. Wow. I would send this to the MOCO. Have you contacted them directly?

not yet im picking bike up today.i didnt want to say much because i have cams,pc111.they warranted it with no problems.freinds bike has 103 crank,s.e.heads they warranted it with no problems. all bikes had between 3500 to 7000 miles on them.

The bolts came loose on my 06 SB at about 8 or 9K miles and the stator flew around in there and made a mess....Brought it in and it was fixed (correctly)same day. There was a bunch of them in 06 so be ready if you have an 06...
