The low-rider shock is 12"....center to center of the eyes, as measured on my '05. Progressive chart lists the same part # for '06, I have them and can tell you they also measure 12" c-c.
I just found the shock to be listed as 12" for the 05 fxdl and 12.6" for the 05 fxdc
also lists 06-08 FXDB/F/L as 12" stock.

Big Bird - I assume you mean rear shocks as opposed to front springs? Street Bob shocks are 12" (at least for '06 and '07). I installed 11" Progressive 412 HDs and with them you do feel all the road irregularities and lowers the bike significantly which is what I wanted, and I love them. Personally I don't mind the really stiff ride but can see why some might.

Go with standard duties if you only ride solo and are under 225 as per Progressive's recommendations and don't want it really stiff, and if you aren't into lowering your bike, stay with the stock (or close to it) length of 12".
I think I'm going to go with the 11" and get the lowering kit springs for the front. I weigh 240 and sometimes the wife rides with me so I think the heavy duty ones are the way to go. Thanks for the information.
