Progressive Spring sizes??
I'm looking at their web site and fro my bike they list 11in all the way up to the 13.5in. What ones do I need for my Streetbob? Or better yet, what is the length of the stock springs? I'd measure them myself but I'm overseas right now. Thanks!!!
Just purchased the 11" progressive 412shocks for my 2007 Streetbob.
One of the easiest mods i have ever done , took about 15 minutes to install.
Drops the rear end by about 1 3/4 inch.

Tell me if I'm wrong here, but I've been looking at this rear shock topic lately, and I was under theimpression that the stock rears were 12.6 ".
Again, I'm no expert on this, but have been running searches, and that seems to be the stock height, while the Lowrider is 12".
I could be wrong, wife reminds me daily of this fact.
I am of the understanding of the following:
Super Glide and Wide Glide - 12.6"
Street Bob, Fat Bob,and Low Rider - 11.75"
The low rear shock kit lowers the SG and WG about 1". This kit only lowers the SB, FB,and LR about 1/4 inch (According to Harley's website).
Here is a chart comparing the seat height and the ground clearance of the SG, LR, and SB. The Street Bob and Low Rider are pretty much equal in these figures.

Now that would make sense asI have been searching for my Super Glide.
Does that mean those "other" bikes have lower front ends?
I'm stillunsure as to whatI will be doing yet, as I am in between the weight of HD and reg. shocks. I'm 225# and heading downwards, ride solo, but carry extra weight when touring.
I want a nice ride, a little lower would be nice, butI don't want to feel the potholes and constant rough roads we have here in Pa..
So I keep reading posts, and searching, trying to learn whatever I can.
Heck, I'm still trying to figure out how toresize and shrinkpictures to post here,

The Street Bob and Super Glide have the same front ends. The only difference in the Low Rider front in is that is has 1.5 degrees more rake (uses same tubes) which lowers the front end just slightly. The ground clearance differences is a result of the shorter shocks, which in turn changes the angle of the swingarm, which results in the lowest point of the frame being different distances from the ground.

Now that explains the Progressive website.
I was wondering why there was a different shock for the Sg's and the Bob/Lowrider.
Seems funny though, as SG offerings are all lower, the others are offered eventaller than the SG.
Just confusing, but it's starting to get a little better.
Thanks

The low-rider shock is 12"....center to center of the eyes, as measured on my '05. Progressive chart lists the same part # for '06, I have them and can tell you they also measure 12" c-c.
Big Bird - I assume you mean rear shocks as opposed to front springs? Street Bob shocks are 12" (at least for '06 and '07). I installed 11" Progressive 412 HDs and with them you do feel all the road irregularities and lowers the bike significantly which is what I wanted, and I love them. Personally I don't mind the really stiff ride but can see why some might.
Go with standard duties if you only ride solo and are under 225 as per Progressive's recommendations and don't want it really stiff, and if you aren't into lowering your bike, stay with the stock (or close to it) length of 12".
