Free Upgrade???
While detailing my Street Bob the other day, I finished up by polishing the chrome oil filter cover. Then, I thought to myself, "Hmmm...I don't remember that being chrome." But, I wrote it off to just not paying attention.
However, today, I was at the dealership and happened to see a stock Bobber on the floor. It had a black oil filter cover. I went back home and looked at the pics I took the day I brought my bike home. Sure enough, my oil filter was black!!
So, this brings to question:
Did the dealer accidentally put a chrome oil filter cover on my bike? Or, does the cover just come with the replacement filter?
I don't mind it, I guess. Especially, if its free. Then again, maybe it's not even my bike!! Maybe I should check the VIN numbers!!!

Replacement filters come in either black or chrome. Was the bike in for service? Maybe they gave you a chrome filter by mistake or it was all they had. Either way, bonus!
Happened to me too, had a black filter when I went for the 2500. When I got it back I noticed it had a chrome filter on it. I didn't ask, didn't think of it as a free upgrade.....just thought the bike looked better with the black one.
