I know there was a recent post similar to this but that post got me thinking and I've been looking at switching to a solid rear on my WG and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how hard it would be to use a stock Fat Boy rim. Sizes are the same, 16X3. Would I require any mods, I would put in new bearings anyway I'm sure. I'm assuming axles are the same diameter but hey I could be wrong. I'm sure someone on here knows.
It will bolt right on. So will certain model year Sporty wheels. The only difference in some years is the bearing size, which can be changed. I have a 1200C chrome slotted mag on the rear of my Road King.
I have an 05 sporty wheel on my front and solid duce wheel on the back the sporty wheel i had to fab some spacers for the wheel and brake caliper but the back bolted right on. Will be posting some pics soon as I resize them.
Great thanks guys. I think I got a line on a rear from a Fat Boy real cheap. I figured the outer portion is chrome and the matte finish will be covered by sprocket, pipes, shocks, and the like so it won't really be noticable.
