Can anybody tell mehow the Cycle Shack slipons compare to other brands of slips as far as sound? Today I went the local dealer and they let me listen to some of the bikes they had in the service area. Granted,I listened to them inside, but the one pair of slipons that I really like the sound ofwere the SEIIs. They had a couple of sets of the SEIIs, but they were for Softails. The service dude said the Cycle Shack slipons were very close inloudnessto the SEIIs. Do any of you guy/gals have anythoughts on this or other slipons that are somewhat equivalent to the SEII???
The slips your referring to are made by Cycle Shack. Same company makes those pipes and the SEII's.
Personally, I think the new SEII's sound almost as lame as stock pipes and would not waste my money. The Cycle Shacks on the other hand are much louder and cheaper to boot. Had a set on my bike when I first got it and liked the sound alot for slip ons.
I have the Cycle Shack turn-outs on my 06 StreetBob. Love the look, sound, and performance. Definitely louder and prouder than any B.S. slip-on you'd get from Harley. My rear one did get heat stained though, but whatever, they were cheap and my Big Radius should be here tomorrow.
I have Cycle Shack slash cuts on my '08 fxdc and they rock. Cycle Shack made the original SE's but NOT the SEll. Mine are louder and sound better than SEll. Used a db meter from the rear right and got an 11 out of them. Stock was 7.5. and I have heard that SEll are around 8 and I believe straight pipes are 14?
