Default internal wiring

first off, i have an 05 fxdci. iv got my bars drilled out ready to go od. i have pull wires in them. my problem. i have removed my seat, battery and tray instrements and gas tank. in the manual it says i should be able to pull the wires to the front and get to the connectors. i cant budge them. i remoced the rubber plugs in the front and cut all the cabel ties i can find but no luck in pulling the wires. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advancei wont be able to get back to anyone for at least a few days cause im going into the hospital today

If you can get the back of the bike up then under the rear fender there is plug - inside there should be some slack for your wiring harness. With the help of a friend you should be able to move your wires forward so you can get to the connectors. There might also be some zip ties up front that are holding things back. My connectors were back in there a ways....I had recently pulled out one of my turn signal connectors went loosening things up to put on my tank lift - that's how we got to it.

the rear fender has a 4 inch square plug directly in front of the tire. pull the harness slackthrough the hole and it will line up with the frame tube and make pushing and pulling connectors out much easier. i did mine with the rear wheel on but if you take it off it will be easier to get your hand in to reach the wire harness.

First off, I have a 98 wide glide, so it may or not be the same for your bike, but I too did everything the manual said. I pulled so hard from the front, I thought I was gonna snap the wires off in the frame.....but the connectors did come out fine. Those connectors are tough little mothers.

Anyways, all worked out fine once I just went for it and really, really tugged. Oh, you have to watch the connector edges coming out from catching around the frame opening, so keep a screwdriver handy to help it through a little if neccessary.
