Well i just got my bike this past thrusday, however i need new mirrors for it. I cant see anything but my arms when i look into them and my old man had the same problem. I need mirrors that are a bit higher/little further out. My bikes a FXDX and here are some pics http://s251.photobucket.com/albums/g...xEnigmaxXx711/ .
Im not sure if im looking to go with chrome ones this time or keep the majority of the bike black. So any ideas yall have would be great.
Nice looking ride. Check out the lower profile mirrors with the extended profile. I went to turn signal mirrors from Frantic Custom Cycles and didn't realize the difference in vision behind me until I put them on - see sig pic. These types of mirrors are available from lots of places without the turn signals and on eBay. Have seen them in black, but I like the chrome with the low rider.
I have the same exact problem...can't see anything but my arms. I still haven't made up my mind what I want to do. I think I am going to get a set of the skull theme mirrors. Just now sure if they would be any better.
Last year, I had new Bars installed just before heading down to the Myrtle Beach Fall Rally. They put the stock mirrors on the new bars and I had the same problem you describe. No matter how I adjusted the mirrors, all I could see in them were my shoulders. I visited the Kuryakyn tent at the rally and they hooked me up with a set of Elipse Mirrors. They also sell what are called Magnum and Super Magnum mirrors. All of them give you a little more up and out to get ride of the problem. Mine are perfect for me. I can see behind me on either side from 1 side of my lane to the other.
Had a buddy that had the same problem. Went into the stealership and got a pair of these http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...bmLocale=en_US they work awesome, and when I rode his bike, you can see a lot more behind you than stock mirrors. Hope it helps
