So I have a 08 street bob and I'm looking to possibly run a black fairing similar to this. I guess I am partial to that rugged look, who knows though I may not care for it once it’s mounted. If it's not a quick disconnect then I am not sure if I will want it. Any ideas on a company who makes them for a 08 street bob? http://www.jcwhitney.com/SPORT-STYLE...wflag=1#review
You'll have to do some creative mounting I think that fairing is designed to mount to the headlight mounting brackets and it looks like it's designed for a much bigger headlight.Harley makes something vaguely similar that will fit a Dyna but I don't like it myself.
Personally, I dig the small, sporty fairing look - but it really depends on the entire bike and what you are gunning for. I agree that the Ness kit looks like it would work out best, but your concern about a quick-release/mount option may not be there. I think these types of fairings require a good amount of wrenching to get on and off - especially since the AN part suggests two addtional kits to mount it correctly. If you do it a lot, you might get good at doing the swap in a fair amount of time, but it might turn into a beating.
If you keep looking, you might find a smaller, shorter detachable unit from Memphis Shades or something. It probably won't have the full-on sporty look you are shooting for, but you might come close. I think you might be in for some fab work, regardless.
