Can anyone tell me is the same handlebar that they put on the Widglide is the same one that they put on the Streetbob, and the Crossbone just painted that one black. Just wandering because I just bought a mini ape handlebar off ebay yesterday and the Harley salesman told me it's the same Harleys are all cosmetic. what you think? He says it will fit my 06 Superglide Custom
I got the same answer from the dealer parts guy yesterday. Bar is cheap - $49.95. Parts alone to make it work were quoted at a little over $400.00. This was off a similar job they just did. Labor brought the conversion to $1k and this is from a straight shooting dealer who bills out at $65.00/hour.
Conversion requires cables and rewiring. Think I'm going with longer pullback risers.
Wow that's a lot of freakn money, I hope that $1k does'nt hit me. I was planning for about $500. We'll see. I know I will need Clutch Cable & Brake Lines & Fuel Lines, we'll see.

I wanted bars a bit higher and more pullback and had dealer install 56563-95 bars on my Low Rider. Needed new wires and cables. Total bill came to around $400. That included a discount for labor. Without discount it would have been around $600. Didn't have wires internally installed.
$1K is about right for everything to go from stock bars to an ape install. With the bars, all cables being chnaged, internal wiring, all the labor, it get's very costly. Do it yourself and save a ton of cash.
The wiring on your Super Glide is long enough and will work. The cables and brakelines are pretty straight forward to change. There is a thread on here written by a member named "thebestofindica" which spells the process out in great detail with pictures.
You can propbably find takeoff bars and cables for less than one hundred dollars. Do it yourself and save a bundle.
