i'd have to run to the garage (ain't gonna happen) to check actual model b ut i went with a carbon fiber and it's great. lightweight and comfortable. i went through two helmets before i figured it out. i took a lot of time, trying them on, shaking my head around like a retard until i found a good fit.
I'm thinking of getting one especially for long rides,or day to day traffic, Imagine some A-hole cuts you off at say 40 mph and the first thing to hit pavement is your chin! ooooooo I shouldn't even say that , but we all have to think it at times!
I've got about 1000 miles on this spring so far and I'm noticing the commutes are probably the most dangerous driving tmes. Cagers aren't awake in the morning and in too much of a rush in the afternoon. Too bad everyday couldn't be Sunday! I may step out and get a full face too but i need to solve my half helmet problem also.
I've got a flat-black Shoei RF-1000 that I normally wear when commuting. You don't see many people on Harley's with a full face on, but the military has stupid rules about riding so it's the easiest way to go when I have to ride on base.
Actually I like my Drifter beter than my HD skull and bones model.
At first I didn't, it caught the wind like a kite.
But it did take me a few tries to get the velcro-adjustable inner pads to the right area(s).
May just be the shape of my mellon.
YMMV
Me and the wife both wear the DOT extended half model from carbonfiberhelmets.com. I am really happy with the helmet, the lightest (DOT) I have ever seen or worn. Quality is good, but order early, cause they can take a while to ship.
