Default Head light change

I have an 07 Super Glide Custom. I love the bike, but hate the head lamp. I love the head lamp on the Wide Glide. The head lamp on the Wide Glide will fit on my super glide with the wide glide mount. My question is: How hard it is to change the lamp? I know that the guts of the lamp, the chrome trim ring, and the lens will all fit into the wide glide headlamp, but will the guts feed through the hole in the back of the head lamp? Do I have to find where the head lamp connects to the main harness and disconnect there? The connection goes through the neck of the bike and sits under the fuel tank, so I am trying to avoid having to do this. Thanks.

Best way to do it is like you've already mentioned. Fish the connector out of the recess in the frame neck and disassemble it so the wire pins are loose. Fairly easy if you have the manual showing how to unlock the pins from the connector housing.

The other way is to cut the wiring harness a couple inches from the headlamp plug. Reconnect the wiring with solder and heat shrink.

I was afraid of that. Not so concerned with taking the pins out of the connector, Ijust did not want to dig the connector out of the neck.

Digging the connector out of the neck is not hard at all.

It takes all of about 2 mins to fish the plug out of the backbone. Why not just change out the complete headlight? It would be plug and play that way.

There was a connector in there? I just cut the wires, soldered the replacements, and applied heat shrink tube.
