Am really struggling with the final decsion on which bike to buy. Love them both event though the ride is just a bit different. Like the chrome on FXDC but the FXDB is an aweosme looking bike too. The FXDC does not have the black powder coated engine and the dealer told me that was a turn off to many people. What is the feeling on that?Know it is preference thing. In fact up until this year the CVO's used the same engine color. Anyway...any thoughts??
I knew what I wanted before I bought mine, it's always been the FXDL Low Rider, then I saw and threw a leg over on the FXDB when they came out. When I was ready to buy, I got torn between the two, there is many things I like about the FXDB, which is just about everything! Then, the deciding factor took hold, I didn't like that rear fender! I've had my FXDL 4 weeks this Saturday!
I own a Street Bob but If I had it to do over again I could have gone with the Custom I just think it's a better deal. Two up seat and passenger pegs should be standard on a $15,000 motorcycle and I prefer the lower wider bars on the custom.
Just signed the paper work for a new 08 FXDB a couple of hours ago. I was also torn between the two but theres just something about the Street Bob that call's to me.
Can't wait to ride it. Just have to wait for them to put it together for me.
Have you given any thought to the FXDF? Going way backto Bikeweek 07, I had the opportunity to demo several bike, I had been a passenger for several years by then on my husbands '06 FLHRCI, but had taken the Rider's Edge course and had the desire to be like all the other women I saw riding their own. During the demo, I fell out of love with the Street Bob and in love with the Duece (who wouldn't right?). Unfortunately for me, my husband did not have that kind of money to throw around on aweekend warrior wife, so Idecided theSofttail standard was the way for me to go, I am not the frilly kind of gal. My husband insisted that we wait until the '08 models came out. We kept waiting and nothing really struck my fancy; until, that is the Fat Bob appeared at our local dealership. I sat on it, and I could instantly feel the wind inmy face! The only problem was the color! I thinkfolks should pick any color they want for their own Harley so long as it is BLACK. So 7 days later, the salesman yelled at me to come look in theback, and thereHE was, forward controls, lotta black, little bit of chrome, and thebobtail fender! All I needed was a reach seat and a windshield I was set! We purchased my Fat Bob Oct '08 and 5K+ miles later! I am still in love with my bike! I can't tell you how many heads I turn and I don't think it is because I am in the saddle! Finally found some slip on mufflers from RUSHthat made it sound like a Harley. I rode it to Myrtle Bch Bikeweek and back. 850 miles round trip; it was AWESOME! I haven't seen many out there.Summer is here don't waste any more time! Shiney side up!
The SB just looks like a 1960's bobber, stripped down, bare bones and I love that there is only a solo seat. Customizing most bikes means to bolt things on, with the Sb it's taking stuff off.
