I bought the Baker gear about a year ago and yes I had to change the belt. Look up my posts because I posted the part # you will need. And yes it helps big time with torque and hp. I no longer have "lugging" in 6th. I use 6th gear at 55mph now.......And the 2" socket is more than the gear itself. I borrowed one from the old Indian dealer...

Is that the only tool we need, "Prodriverdon"? ...the 2 1/4 socket to remove it?

If you go with the 31T the stock belt is good. The 30T needs a shorter belt.

I went with the Baker 30 tooth gear,part # 1100-0010 and I had to change the belt. If you buy the 2 1/4 socket from Baker part # 3802-0029 it is $153. All you need is the socket and normal shop tools.......And Locktite as needed.

may need to use an impact wrench depending on your ability to get the compensator and sprocket nuts off.
