I would like to put a 30 tooth tranny sprocket on my 07 dyna, Ive read conflicting things. Can i use the stock belt? If not, does anyone have the part number for one that will work? thanks
good question, was thinking about that myself. 2.79 is way high, and if i ring out 4th with the 103 i'm going quite fast going into 5th, and 6th forget about it. i believe the 30 tooth will put an 07 at 2.97.
30-tooth or 31-tooth h-dÂŽ 2006-up cruise drive⢠pulleys Get more oomph from a throttle-wick on your 2007 stock Harley-Davidson FL. Our 30-Tooth or 31-Tooth transmission pulleys effectively âgear downâ the bike to optimize the performance in two major ways. First, youâll get more torque and power from the take-off gears. This remedies the common criticism of the new bikes being a little sluggish off the line for some riders. Second, you can utilize the 6th gear at a slower, more reasonable highway speed for a more comfortable RPM. These pulleys bring the cruising gears down a notch for finessing your ride. Performance details are as follow: [ul][*] Increase Rear Wheel Torque (30T- 7% Increase / 31T- 3% Increase) Cruising RPM 6th gear (75MPH) 30T @ 2830 / 31T @ 2756 No more lugging the motor in 6th gear at lower cruising speeds (60-70 MPH)[/ul] Note: Will require the use of a 1 tooth shorter belt (For example: H-D p/n 40056-07 is for FL) 2 Âźâ special Pulley nut socket required for replacement available from Baker Drivetrain. p/n 94660-07BD
stock is indeed 32.... Andrews makes 2 different ones- a 34 and a 30
there are a few guys in the softail or touring threads that have done this and with much success ...all good reviews
the only modification is a shorter belt...and harley makes one, but i can't remember the part number for the life of me....if you do a search on 'belt replacement' or 'power pulley' you might come across it
i'm not so interested now because i'm in the middle of a cam, pushrod, and exhaust change...followed by a PC3 install
I already ordered the pulley and i got the special 2/14" socket to remove the pulley.... I was reading that there is enough room to use the stock belt. Ill let everyone know fo sho when i do mine.

Thinking about getting one of these..did you have to get a new belt od did it work?
