I've got them on my Fat Bob and I think they look good. I also like the protection they provide should I drop the bike. Some people don't like the look of them but that's their choice.
Last season we were in New Hampshire with 2 other couples and the bike was loaded.
Had finished a break and while my wife was getting on the back my foot slipped on some sand. Bike did a slow-motion drop to the left and I couldn't hold it up.
Slowly tipped over and the engine guard did its job. Not a scratch anywhere on the bike.
It takes some time to get used to anything I add to the bike. If you do bolt on an engine
gaurd, give it some time, and eventually you will not even notice it. Personally, i don't
mind the look. Add some lights, and it looks even better.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
If you like the way they look, put em on. Cant argue the safety aspect anyway
Some people think my bike looks atrocious. I dont care what they think.
It's your bike and you can do what you want.
You dont have to look cool to be cool
I'm hoping that they will help me out a little if or when I ever drop my bike. I'v heard they help to protect the bike and also enable you to get you leg out from under the bike. I really don't want to find out if this is true "up close and personal".
I think they look o.k.. Went with the Lindby for my 01 Super Glide....
